Pěničková, Dominika ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pravečková, Petra (referee)
Title: The reasons of the early career termination of high-performance tennis players. Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out and analyze the causes or reasons leading to the involution in women's performance tennis, especially to their early career termination, while their goal was to reach the top level. Method: In this diploma thesis, I used a qualitative type of research. Chosen was a case study variant. Information was collected through semi-structured interview and document data analysis. Results: The survey results prove that there is not one main reason for the early termination of the career of high-performance female tennis players, but several voluntary and involuntary combinations of reasons that led to the termination of the career. Female players end their careers early mainly because of not reaching the required level and the related voluntary focus on studies and future profession. These reasons are a combination of long-term sporting failure (psychological reason) and free choice to leave (personal reason). Other reasons for premature termination are physiological problems, most often injury or illness, which forced female players to stop active activity. Key words: Sports career, reasons for termination sports career, early termination

Author: Bc. David Svoboda Title: Authentic experiences and recommendations from Olympic champions to build mental resilience and manage the psychological consequences of health problems Objectives: As there are not many surveys and publications dealing with psychological consequences caused by health problems in top- athletes' career, the main purpose of the research was to analyse authentic experience and recommendations, how the selected Olympic winners lived through these periods, what experience they have and what they would recommend to other athletes in this context from the viewpoint of their mental resistance. Furthermore, we will attempt to reveal possible consequences between the athletes' health and mental health. The following aim is to summarise this information into valid recommendations for other sportsmen. The influence of early specialization and general preparation on the sports career of a performance cyclist
SOUČKOVÁ, Celestýna
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out whether there is a direct influence of early specialization and early start of activities on the further course of the career and to compare it with the concept of general training. The research method is an electronic questionnaire of our own design, which is part of a quantitative survey. The questionnaire has 25 questions that have both closed and open answers. The research group consists of 37 respondents who practice cycling or have performed at the performance level in the elite category. Based on the answers from the questionnaire, graphs and evaluation of the results were created, which are presented in the practical part of the work. The main results include the following: It has been shown that individuals who started cycling within the age of 8 have achieved significantly more significant success in the youth categories than other age groups. Individuals belonging to the first group (up to 8 years of age) were most affected by health problems, which means that starting a cycling career at an early age has a more negative impact on the health of individuals than the later beginning of a sports career. In comparison with the average training units, the first age group (up to 8 years) had on average more cycling trainings than the second, but also other sports activities significantly exceeded in individuals who started up to 8 years. It has also been shown that individuals who started cycling at an earlier age end their careers for health reasons more often than those who start later. This research has shown the pros and cons of early specialization and its impact on an individual's career.
